About the session

This session was made for existing customers using Bsure Insights version 1.
Olav and Gunnar showed what is new in version 2 and how to move from your current setup in a safe and simple way.

They explained why the new version was built, what has changed in the platform, and how you can migrate while keeping all your historical data.

Why a new version

Version 1 has served customers well, but its architecture with a separate Data Collector and Power BI app started to limit how far the platform could evolve.
Each customer had to maintain their own Power BI app, which made updates inconsistent and new functionality harder to deliver.

Version 2 is built on a completely new foundation with:

• A web-based front end that removes manual Azure table editing

• Centralized updates, so no Power BI app maintenance is needed

• Easier configuration of prices, applications, and groups

• On-demand data refresh for faster updates

• Role-based access and support for future automation features

• About 70 percent lower Azure running cost

• Full support for migration of historical data from version 1

The first release focused on feature parity. Everything you used in version 1 is still there, built on a modern and more flexible architecture.

What was covered in the demo

The live demo included:

1. Reviewing a current version 1 setup

2. Installing version 2 from the Azure Marketplace

3. Running the first-time configuration

4. Migrating existing data from version 1 with the migration wizard

5. Setting up prices, applications, groups, and users directly in the web interface

6. Removing the old version 1 Managed App and Power BI workspace

During the demo, the team also explained the new technical setup.
Version 2 now runs on Azure Container Apps, SQL Database, and Fabric API integration, all hosted securely in the customer’s own tenant.

How to install Bsure Insights v2

You can install Bsure Insights v2 directly from the Azure Marketplace.
The full installation guide is available at docs.bsure.io/getting-started/installation-guide.

The setup itself normally takes around 15 - 30 minutes and can be done by a Global Administrator in your tenant.
The guide walks through everything step by step, including the prerequisites you should check before you start — take a moment to review those carefully before running the installation.

In short, you:

1. Deploy Bsure Insights v2 from the Azure Marketplace.

2. Run the first-time configuration in the web app.

3. Migrate your historical data using the migration guide.

4. Configure subscription prices, applications, and groups directly in the web interface.

5. Add users and assign roles.
