After a year with Bsure, Norconsult has gained better visibility into its Entra ID platform, more accurate cost control, more efficient license optimization across the Microsoft portfolio, and faster reporting. The solution provides continuous insight, making it easier to make decisions based on facts rather than assumptions.

From quarterly reports to continuous insight

When Norconsult started looking for a new tool to gain continuous visibility into license and identity data in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, they had already made significant progress with internal optimization processes. Still, much of the work remained manual and time-consuming. Norconsult wanted continuous insight and full control of their own data. With Bsure, they now have access to daily updated and reliable information.

Lasse Gammersvik, Head of IT Procurement & Assets at Norconsult, explains that the company previously worked in a more reactive way and wanted a more dynamic tool that could provide near real-time data. When Bsure entered the picture, they found a solution that offered continuous visibility while keeping all data securely within their own environment. Today, the tool is used for both financial management and technical insight.

Simplifying cost allocation

Bsure is becoming an important tool for cost allocation and budgeting across the Norconsult group.
The solution is used not only by Group IT, but also across subsidiaries and national organizations, which can now access customized reports and track usage and costs locally.

“We use Bsure to allocate costs across companies and departments. Entra ID provides an accurate distribution that I can also use to allocate a range of IT-related costs. It has become an important budgeting tool,” says Gammersvik.

Previously, Gammersvik had to gather data from multiple sources to create reports and internal cost allocations. Now, data is collected directly from source systems and displayed through the Bsure interface. This has made the work both faster and more precise. Budgeting Microsoft 365 licenses, which used to take several days, can now be completed in just a few hours. For the finance department, that means faster processes, less manual work, and greater reporting accuracy.

Strengthened collaboration between IT and Finance

Bsure has also strengthened collaboration between IT and finance. Gammersvik explains that the finance department now knows IT has the capacity to allocate costs quickly and accurately, which has made cooperation simpler and more efficient.
The tool provides a shared view of status and costs across the organization, making it easier to assign responsibility and follow up on figures continuously.

Improved security and data quality

In addition to financial insight, Bsure provides valuable information about identities and applications. The solution highlights relevant information about all accounts in Entra ID, making it easy to follow up and ensure compliance with implemented policies. This helps improve data quality and reduce risk. With Bsure, Norconsult has gained even greater control over costs, source systems, and processes. The solution provides continuous insight and faster reporting. The result is better control and time saved across all areas.

Better device visibility in collaboration with Bsure

In recent months, Bsure has added new functionality developed in collaboration with Norconsult. Lars Løvf, Head of IT Operations, says this has given the IT department better visibility into the company’s device environment.

“We can now easily get an overview of all devices registered in Entra ID or Intune, including operating system, version, and configuration,” explains Løvf.

He adds that the solution also shows the primary user of each device, as well as any other users who have logged in. In addition, it provides insight into compliance status and supported Windows versions. The information is presented in a way that makes it easy to track baselines and deviations—without needing to be an expert in Entra ID or Intune.

Looking ahead

Norconsult is now exploring how Bsure can be used in even more areas. Gammersvik says they are considering adding additional data, such as information about clients, operating systems, and applications, to achieve an even more comprehensive management view.
